So you would ask the question, How do you say "manzana" in English? This is of course assuming that the person you're talking to understands Spanish. How starts the question. Do you say asks the question, then you have your word, which in this case is manzana, and then finally in English.So all together once again, How do you say "manzana" in English? |
Not to leave you hanging, manzana is apple. |
You can of course point at a phrase and say How do you say this in English? Just substitute the word with this. So once again, that's How do you say this in English? |
If you point at an object, it would be more appropriate to say, What do you call this in English? What do you call is asking for the name of the object. So once again, What do you call this in English? Remember the upward intonation. |
