This is the h sound. This is the tʃ sound. And this is the dʒ sound. By the end of this lesson, you'll be able to tell them apart PLUS you'll be practicing them and on your way to perfect pronunciation!
I'm Alisha, and this is English Pronunciation Through Minimal Pairs.
First is h. This is the h sound in "how," "help," "perhaps," and other words.
Next is tʃ. This is the ch sound in "child," "teacher," "match," and other words.
The last is dʒ. This is the j sound in "just," "major," "age," and other words.
To make the h sound: open the teeth and lips and release a burst of air. The tongue should be relaxed.

To make the tʃ sound: the lips part slightly, and the teeth come together gently. The tip of the tongue touches the top of the mouth behind the upper teeth. The teeth come apart, and the tongue releases as we make the sound.

To make the dʒ sound: the front teeth move together, and the lips are in an O shape. The tip of the tongue is against the back of the upper teeth. When we release the sound, we release the tongue and part the teeth.
