INTRODUCTION |
Do You Have Information Guides in My Language in the UK? |
The UK has a long and interesting history, which you will get the chance to discover when visiting Britain. Many museums and tourist attractions offer information in different languages, so in this lesson, we’ll cover an important phrase to help you make the most of your trip. |
SURVIVAL PHRASES |
Let’s imagine that you’re from Germany. If you would like a museum guide written in German, you would ask: “Do you have an information guide in German?” We start with the polite request do you have’, then the item ‘information guide’ followed by the language you would like it in “in German”. “Do you have an information guide in German?” |
This phrase can be used with any language. Simply replace ‘German’ with the language that you speak. |
If you can’t see an information guide in your language, then don’t be afraid to ask. The UK attracts visitors from all around the world, so major tourist attractions often have information in many different languages. |
Okay, to close out this lesson we’d like you to practice what you’ve just learned. I’ll provide you with the phrase, and you’re responsible for shouting it out loud. You have a few seconds before I give you the answer. So good luck! |
