Do you know how to use intensifiers to describe past experiences? |
Welcome to Three Step English Practice by EnglishClass101.com. In this lesson, you will practice how to use intensifiers to describe past experiences. |
Let’s look at the main dialogue. |
Two people are having a conversation. |
The location was really convenient, but it was much too expensive. |
Jerry! You’re unbelievably picky. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money! |
In this conversation, this character |
is describing what they think of one of the potential store locations to this character. |
By saying that the location is "really" convenient, he is emphasizing how convenient the location is. Then, when he says the location is "much too" expensive, he shows that it is not just expensive, but so far beyond his expected budget that it is even more than "too" expensive. |
Let’s practice with more intensifiers in this lesson. |
