Do you know how to express regrets in English? |
Welcome to Three Step English Practice by EnglishClass101.com. |
In this lesson, you will practice expressing regrets in English. |
Let’s look at the main dialogue. |
Two people are having a conversation. |
I see. Well, we should have gone to Green Burger. They have a terrace there. |
Yeah, but the terrace is always crowded. |
We should have called and made a reservation. |
Here, the first person is using "should have" to express regret, by saying an action that they could have taken, but didn't. The thing they should have done is indicated by the past participle verb that follows directly after. Here, the past participle in the first line of dialogue is "gone," and the ones in the third line are "called and made." |
Let’s practice with this grammar more in this lesson. |
